Mayville State to host
Shrine Bowl players and coaches

For the 5th year in a row, Mayville State University athletic director Mike Moore has announced that Mayville State University will host the North Dakota Shrine Bowl players and coaches during their week of training prior to this year’s game. The 132 members of the East and West 9-man and 11-man teams and their 16 coaches will practice at the Mayville State practice fields and Jerome Berg Field. Accommodations will be provided in Mayville State residence halls and dining services. Shrine game players and coaches will arrive at Mayville State at noon Tuesday, July 5th and check out the morning of July 10th.

“We are very excited for the opportunity to have these young men and their coaches on our campus,” said Athletic Director Mike Moore. “We look forward to hosting this highly regarded group. Our newly renovated residence hall and two new football practice fields will provide a great experience and atmosphere for the athletes and their coaches.”

The North Dakota Shrine Bowl is sponsored by the Kem and El Zagal Temples of Grand Forks and Fargo, N.D. This marks the 43rd annual Shrine Bowl. Teams are made up of 120 athletes from North Dakota and 12 from northwest Minnesota, areas included in the Kem and El Zagal territories. The 16 coaches are all members in good standing with the North Dakota High School Coaches Association. Selections were based on the coaches’ respective 2015 seasons.

The 2016 North Dakota Shrine Bowl is scheduled for Sunday, July 10th. The bowl games will be held at the Fargo Dome in Fargo. The 11 man games is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and 9 man at 7:00 p.m. TV Coverage provided by BEK TV.
